2005 Rules
All decisions made by Show Staff are final!
Please do not crowd the judges during classes- leave them some breathing
room around the tables! However, you are encouraged to ask the judges
about their placings after classes so you can learn!
* Prizes: Ribbons for models through 6th
place, treats for honorable mentions, plus door prizes. Champions
and reserves will receive special ribbons and/or plaques. Special
awards will be announced.
* Divisions:
1. Original Finish Plastic: models
that are as sold from the factory, and made of acetate or some other
plastic.
2. Custom Made Plastic: includes all plastic
factory OF repaints.
* Classes: Classes will adhere to the
posted classlist as much as is possible. We will not split OFP classes
further than they already are by make or gender. For very large classes,
the judge has the option to "string" the models - that is,
indicate by string, coin, candy or other means which horses are to
remain in the ring for further judging, while all others will be removed.
Decisions made by the judges are final. For classes with less than
eight entries in ANY division, the judge has the option to combine
the class with another class of appropriate similarity. Again, judges'
decisions are final.
* Class limits: Limit 6 models per entrant
per class.
* Class entries: Models may compete in
ONE breed class. Mixed breeds should enter the Part Bred class that
best fits the horse's type (list breeds on card). Please use your
best judgment as to which division your mixed breed horse should show
in, keeping in mind that your horse will be judged based on standards
applied to the type you choose - i.e. a Quarab shown in the stock
division would be expected to be of a more bulky, muscled stock type,
while a Quarab shown in the Arab division would be expected to be
more refined and exhibiting more Arab characteristics. Consult with
showholder if unsure. Please ask before the show for any clarifications
on which class a mixed breed should enter. Halters are optional, but
if used should be correct for breed shown. For the Mini divisions,
only models that are in scale up to 1:18 may enter, regardless of
actual size.
*Mini classes: "Mini" shall
be defined as those models falling into the scale range of Micro-minis,
1:32 (commonly known as the Stablemates/Chips scale) and up to 1:18
scale (commonly known as the Paddock Pals/Pebbles scale). Foals and
ponies must be in scale. NO classic scale models will be allowed in
the Mini division, regardless of size.
*Limited Run: A limited run is defined
as a model where 15 or fewer than 15 were made. If a run had 15 mattes
and 5 glossies than more than 15 were made and cannot compete in the
Test/Limited Run classes.
* Results/NAN tickets: Official show results
will include 1st through 6th place in each class, and will be posted
on the show website. 1st and 2nd place models in each NAMHSA qualifying
class will receive a NAN card. Please fill out the information on
the card as soon as possible. This card is your only proof that the
model is eligible to enter NAN!
* Labeling: For each model, please provide
a 3x5 card for EACH model and EACH class. Cards should have the Breed
and Gender of the horse on one side, and the horse's name and owner's
name on the other. Judges will be turning in the cards from the winners
of each class - please help us keep things running smoothly and on
time by having your cards ready to go, legible and complete! ALL CLASSES
should be entered with the cards showing the BREED AND GENDER of the
horse, NOT the owner's name and the horse's name! You may also keep
a tag on your horse to help you identify it as yours. I do recommend
you have some way to identify a model as your own - particularly in
the large OFP classes where chances are high that there will be many
of the same model on the table. Models called back for championship
classes will NOT BE REQUIRED to have a new card. Cards will be requested
for the Champion and Reserve Champion at the time that they are pinned.
*Judging Criteria: We will have a NAN
rulebook on site for judges and entrants to use. Judging criteria
will follow the NAN rulebook as follows:
* Halter :
1. Correctness of ABC's - that is, anatomy, biomechanics and
conformation
2. Type and conformation that represents current breed standards (or
historic standards if noted on entry)
3. Over-all appearance, finish, condition, and workmanship
4. Judge's impression
5. Collectibility
* Please note: halter classes will be
judged to current breed standards unless you include a reasonably
sized card documenting the type of horse you are presenting (example:
Foundation appy gelding circa 1940). Documentation is always encouraged,
particularly for less common breeds or colors.
*Restrictions:
Halter: A halter entry may include a halter but no other props.
The halter must be to breed standards and properly fit, or you may
risk being penalized. Bases are allowed. A Huck may have an aftermarket
base. |
